Tilda Something Blue Fabric Range
Tilda’s Something Blue fabric range is a beautiful celebration of classic blue and white design. Designer Tone Finnanger has long collected blue and white pottery in all shapes and sizes, and she loves the way the different patterns play off each other when grouped together. This collection captures that same timeless charm — delicate florals, tiny geometrics, and bold motifs that feel both fresh and nostalgic.
The range includes 15 different pattern designs, a mix of repurposed favourites and brand‑new prints. Many of the designs are offered in both dark‑on‑light and light‑on‑dark colourways, giving you two distinct palettes to play with. You’ll also find coordinating blenders, border fabrics, and a sweet selection of quilt labels and ornaments in two colourways, perfect for adding special finishing touches.
Tilda Something Blue is released worldwide on June 1, 2026. A big thank you to Tilda Australia for providing the fabric for my projects.

⭐ Sewing Projects Using Tilda Something Blue
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing a collection of sewing projects made with this gorgeous range. All of the patterns featured here are:
- Beginner‑friendly
- Scrap‑friendly
- Quick to sew
- Perfect for gifting
This post will grow as I add more projects, so feel free to check back for fresh inspiration.

Makers Caddy
The Makers Caddy is one of my favourite small organisers to sew, and Something Blue suits it beautifully. The structured shape shows off the prints, and the pockets are perfect for storing sewing notions, craft supplies, or small gifts. The soft blues give it a calm, classic feel — ideal for your sewing room or as a thoughtful handmade present.

Ribbon Pouches
To highlight the versatility of the range, I stitched two Ribbon Pouches — one in a light‑on‑dark print and one in a dark‑on‑light. These show two of the three sizes included in the pattern. The contrast between the colourways is striking, and the simple construction makes this a lovely project for showcasing your favourite prints.

Scrappy Strips Pouch
The Scrappy Strips Pouch showcases the Something Blue prints beautifully, with its striking diagonal panel made from selvedges or patchwork strings. The folded‑over lining creates a sweet contrasting casing, making this beginner‑friendly drawstring bag perfect for gifting, organising notions, or using treasured fabric scraps. You can find the pattern in our Pattern Store.

Quadra Pouch
The Quadra Pouch highlights four coordinating Something Blue fabrics, giving you a fun, scrappy way to mix light‑on‑dark and dark‑on‑light prints. With its clever construction and three practical sizes, it’s a quick, satisfying project that shows off the charm and versatility of the collection. You can find the pattern in our Pattern Store.

Sewing Buddy Pincushion
The Sewing Buddy Pincushion is a sweet and practical little project that keeps your favourite tools close at hand. Sewn in the brand‑new Tilda Something Blue collection (releasing worldwide on June 1), it features the charming elephants, pagodas, and tiny motifs that are perfect for fussy‑cutting the economy‑block pocket. I added a selvedge tag for an extra personal touch, which complements the soft blues beautifully. With room for pins, needles, clips, and small scissors, it’s a thoughtful gift for any sewist — pretty, functional, and quick to make. The pattern is available in my Pattern Store.

Free Pyramid Weights Pattern
These sweet Pyramid Weights are a quick and satisfying make, and they look especially pretty in Something Blue. Use them as pattern weights, book weights, or scented sachets. This is a great scrap‑busting project, and the small scale of the prints works perfectly for tiny makes.
Free pattern available on the blog.
