Paper Flowers

November 3, 2011 By Spoonful of Sugar - 15 Comments

When I was browsing around the internet today, I came across a roundup of flower tutorials that can be easily made from either paper, fabric, tule, ribbon, or felt. One that caught my eye was the Paper Flower Tutorial from the Whimsical World of Laura Bird. Flowers are such a great way to dress up a card or gift package.

These ones were easily created by folding paper circles from double sided paper. I used my 1 1/2 inch circle punch and mounted the flower onto a die cut doily so I had some red showing through, and finished it off with a polka dot button. This would be a fun project for teens.

Such a fun  and satisfying project! For other Red and Aqua Christmas projects check out:

There’s something so lovely about putting together There’s something so lovely about putting together a bright, happy self‑care gift… especially when it’s handmade. I stitched a colourful set using Ruby Star Society fabrics - a Relaxation Eye Pillow and a Heavenly Heatpack - and styled them into a complete gift bundle. To make it feel extra special, I lined a small bamboo tray with soft tissue, added the two calming makes, tied them with a pink ribbon, and tucked in a few thoughtful extras: a candle, a box of speciality tea, and a tiny plant.
