It is handy to have a few foldable grocery sacks in your handbag for when you call into the supermarket on you way home from work to pick up a few items. My latest pattern, the Eco Shopper, is inspired by the old style plastic shopping bag. It has a side gusset which expands to accommodate more bulky shopping items. It is roomy and also folds up to a small size which makes them super convenient to have on hand.
The Eco Shopper is constructed with French seams which give a very neat appearance and also contributes to its strength. All seams are reinforced with top stitching. These bags can be easily made in an afternoon.
The Eco Shopper provides an opportunity to add trim and trim to embellish the bag and add your own creative touch. I used pink rainbow ribbon that I found in my stash – it was the perfect finishing touch.
This is a fun pattern to combine two contrasting prints. Great opportunity to use some larger scale prints. I went bright and bold with these duo. Who says that shopping bags need to be boring?
The bag includes an elastic loop to make it super easy to fold the bag and secure into a small size to stow in your handbag, backpack, suitcase, or car.
The Eco Shopper includes full sized templates in both A4 and Letter size format to suit your home printer. Simpley print the four panels and tape together so you have a complete template to use for the bag shape.
The Eco Shopper Pattern is available in our Pattern Store and Etsy Shop for immediate download. This makes a great gift (and can even be used as a gift bag!
