Chocolate Cake with Marshmallow Frosting

March 1, 2012 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 10 Comments

If you are after a cake for a special occasion, you can’t go past this Chocolate Layer Cake, filled with rich chocolate ganache, and topped with Marshmallow Frosting. Sarah baked up this treat for the family last weekend and it was amazing!

She used Martha Stewart’s Chocolate Cake Recipe and topped it with the 7 Minute Frosting.

Needless to say, it didn’t last long!

Picture perfect. I admit I’m not a cake lover but I love 7-minute frosting — it’s that marshmallow goodness.

    Hello Lisa and Sarah
My oh my, that cake looks wonderful. A far cry from my devil’s food cake mix with softened ice cream endeavours (although it is very yummy too).
I have a question for Sarah. What do you use instead of corn syrup? I don’t think it’s readily available in Australia, is it?
    Thanks, Clare

did you run it under the broiler to get the toasty effect? I’ve made that frosting before and we love it, but I never thought of toasting it.
