Queen Anne’s Lace

May 24, 2011 By Spoonful of Sugar - 29 Comments

It has been perfect crochet weather this week. After seeing Kate’s lovely scarves using the Queen Anne’s Lace pattern, I put hook to yarn to make one for winter. I used a pattern I found at This Domestic Life which has helpful photographed steps. It is a quite straight forward pattern and it was relaxing to crochet while watching Master Chef.

I used 1 1/2 balls of 8 ply wool yarn from spotlight and a 4.00 mm crochet hook. I crocheted 50 medallions.

I will definitely be making more of these.

Gosh! Everyone is crocheting this! I saw Kate’s post too. A few years ago now I crocheted a baby blanket using this pattern. I used 4 ply yarn with a 5mm hook and it was a lovely lacy gossemer rug.

I.m ending the flower on the wrong side i think. How do i get back into the pattern? Do I end here and begin a new loop again in the centre? Its bugging me so much and I’ve unravelled twice already. ;(

Thanks for helping out a stranger.

Hi Natasha – Sorry to hear you are having issues – that is no fun at all! I followed someone else’s pattern and as I made this a few years ago, can’t really remember the details. I just did a google search and there is a utube clip you could follow – hopefully that will solve your problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIzNoe_C76U

What a dear you are. I wound off. Then began on the opposite end, and now, suitably chastised (and thrilled that I’m back on course), I’m paying closer attention to the pattern. Love from India.
