Living Room Update

August 4, 2012 By Spoonful of Sugar - 7 Comments

You may recall back in January, we had an e-decorating consultation with the lovely Anna from Ethos Design. You can read about the consultation and see the before photos here.

Life then got very busy and it has taken us longer than expected to “update” our Family Room. We are nearly finished, and I thought I would share some progress pics, and recap on some of the decorating projects that we have completed. We have kept the existing furniture, and have added accessories in shades of white and aqua/turquoise to freshen up the room. We are going with a travel theme.

Projects completed include: Table Runner; Bottle Collection; Pillows; Monogrammed Candle Holder; and Map Tray.

Last night at sewing group, I made a couple more pillows – making 9 in total! These ones were made from Modern Meadow – Nap Sack in Lake.

I am currently working on a new table runner for the coffee table.

Monogrammed Candle Holder is above the TV.

One of my next projects is to make a cloth for the side table.

We purchased a new floor rug and table lamp. We have ordered some Vintage Travel Posters for the walls, and I have a couple of other projects planned to finish off the room. It is starting to shape up. The white and aqua is such a fresh combination.

I love it! Very refreshing. But do you ever feel like painting a bit of a design on your new rug…? Just throwing it in there!
