Lazy Sunday

October 17, 2010 By Spoonful of Sugar - 24 Comments

Sarah spoilt us this afternoon with a lovely batch of Marble Cupcakes. She used a recipe from Martha Stewart Cupcakes  – they were delicious!

Thanks to Susan for alerting me to the fact that Spotlight had some polka dotted wrapping paper. I dashed over there this morning and snaffled up the last three rolls. Everything looks better wrapped in polka dots as Sarah and I proved this afternoon when we gave this gift the polka dot treatment! I love the card that Sarah made (using the Paisley Cartridge on the Cricut).

Do you remember the Advent Houses I designed for Quilting Art Gifts? Susan from Studio Adventures has made up an Advent Village for her newly married daughter. Here is her version – don’t they look amazing!

Have a great week!

LOL about the polkadot paper…I’m glad you managed to find some…I didn’t think it would last long! How great does it look with the red/white twine? Thinking I should have bought more 🙂

Love the polka dots – what a score:) And was very excited when I visited my best quilting buddy a week ago and she had the magazine with your Advent houses in them – I was able to say “Oh I’ve seen them” …. felt like I knew someone famous!!!!!!! We plan to have a quilt together and make a set each. Ciao

We had marble cake at our wedding, so now I’m inspired to try these cupcakes after seeing yours. You’re right, everything looks better wrapped in polka dot wrap. How fun to give such a beautiful gift. And even more fun to see someone else make your cool Advent houses! I can’t wait to try them too.

Gee thanks, between you and Susan there will be no polka dot paper any where in Perth? The card looks great and oh so pretty wrapped up. Sarah’s cupcakes look oh so yummy, and how great is that advent calendar/house.

Love love the little house adventornaments. So sweet. I want them! I have never made a marble cake. My mom used to make them all the time when I was a kid. Those cupcakes remind me of her cakes. Delicious looking.
