Fathers Day Ideas

September 1, 2011 By Spoonful of Sugar - 10 Comments

We will be celebrating Fathers Day here in Australia this Sunday. Sadly with both my Father-In-Law and Grandfather passing away this year, and my Dad currently travelling overseas, it will be a smaller celebration this year. The kids and I will be lavishing our attention on my dear husband who is an awesome Dad.

Finding gifts for Dad’s can be tricky – especially if you want to avoid perennial favourites like socks and jocks, ties, etc. I am hoping inspiration will strike before the teens and I hit the shops after school. (Gift ideas gratefully received!). I am sure Sarah will be baking up some special treats over the weekend.

Here are some of the Fathers Day gifts we have made in recent years:

Bin Bag for the Car
Golf Towel
Coasters
Framed Family Photo
Home Baked Cookies
Candy Box

Hope all the Dad’s in Australia have a brilliant Fathers Day!

We celebrate Father’s Day in June. It’s a tradition for me to make my Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes for breakfast. My DH’s fave breakfast. Happy Father’s Day to your DH!

Hope you found the perfect present! I picked up a Sourdough cookbook a few weeks ago and the kids have bought a CD. I have planned a special Fathers Day dinner. Hope you have a lovely day.
