Dress Form Lavender Sachets

April 15, 2016 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 4 Comments

Dress Form Lavender Sachets, from A Spoonful of Sugar by Lisa Cox

One of my favourite projects from my book (A spoonful of Sugar), is the Dress Form Lavender Sachets. They are little sachets that can be hung from a coat hanger or in your wardrobe to make your clothing smell lovely. These sachets feature a dress form that has been sewn using raw edge appliqué. It is a fun project to add little embellishments such as ribbon and trims. These sachets make lovely little gifts and are fun to sew.

In this version of the Dress Form Lavender Sachet, I have used Flower Sugar Carnival fabric by Lecien Fabrics. Flower Sugar is my favourite fabric range and they add new collections each year. All the ranges work so well together. This latest range, Flower Sugar Carnival, includes a sweet butter yellow and jade green, in addition to the pink, red and aqua.

Florals and polka dots – you can’t go wrong with that combination!

In my book, I made the sachets in classic colours of red and blue, using some vintage French haberdashery trims and laundry tape. This pattern could be easily adapted into a pin cushion for a sewing friend. A Spoonful of Sugar, Sew 20 Simple Projects to Sweeten Your Surroundings Zakka Style is due out on April 26, 2016. Not long to go now!
