I love having Wednesdays off work – I always seem to get more done when I am home by myself. I felt like baking and Mr 18 requested an apple cake recipe. I made a family favourite – Apple Yoghurt Cake. This apple recipe is low fat – it does not include butter or oil. It uses a small quantity of yoghurt. The cake is light with a delicate texture. It never lasts long …..
We originally discovered this recipe over at Little Busy Bee nearly 4 years ago, and have been making it ever since.

No butter ???????…..
A Spoonful of Sugar says
That is correct Marie – it uses yoghurt instead so is a low fat cake. It has a really light texture. We have made it a number of times and it is great when you want some cake without the calories/fat.

This looks delicious. Just a quick question, can I the plain yogurt for Greek yogurt? I have a tub of Greek yogurt sitting in the fridge and I’m looking for ways to finish it lol
A Spoonful of Sugar says
Greek yoghurt should work well in this recipe! Happy baking.

what should I do if I want to use 2eggs instead of 4 eggs? can i use more yoghurt?
thk u,
A Spoonful of Sugar says
I wouldn’t change the eggs and it will affect the cake. Best to find a recipe that uses only 2 eggs.
