Our latest addition to the Foundation Paper Piecing range is the Mills and Stars Foundation Paper Piecing Quilt Block. This traditional block is also known as the Vintage Kite block. It is a really fun block to create and perfect for using your fabric scraps.
In these Mills and Stars blocks, I have dug into my colour coded fabric scrap bins to find four similar fabrics for the stars, and used low volume prints that are predominantly white for the backgrounds. These blocks are 3 inch square and which make them charm square friendly.
Like all of our FPP quilt blocks, the Mills and Stars Block Pattern includes 4 different sizes – 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch and 6 inch. The variety of sizes, makes this block perfect to incorporate in mini quilts, quilts, bags, pillows, pot holders and more!
All the templates are included in both Letter Size and A4 format to suit your home printer. A colouring sheet is also included to help you plan your colour layout. This block is really versatile and can look completely different when you experiment with different colours.
The Mills and Stars block is suitable for a confident beginner foundation paper piecer. The pattern includes some general paper piecing instructions to get you started.
