Loyalty Card Wallet

February 6, 2012 By Spoonful of Sugar - 22 Comments

Long time readers of our blog may remember one of our earlier tutorials, to make a Scrappy Loyalty Card Wallet (originally blogged here). I have had my loyalty card wallet in use since 2009 and it is now showing signs of wear so it was time for an update.

I teamed scraps from the yellow colourway from the Picnics and Fairgrounds collection by DS Quilts with some linen.

And finished it off with a vintage style button.

The wallet is sized to fit up to 16 loyalty cards. Much nicer than my original wallet:)

You can find the pdf of the tutorial here.

I’m still using the one you sent me as a thank you gift for hosting the tea swap. You used Amy Butler Midwest Modern and I love this handy loyalty card wallet. Love your new version.

Thanks for this. I need to make a new wallet for my daughter! I can use the leftover fabrics from the purse I am making! It’s perfect – won’t she be surprised.

Cute, but I am unable to download the tutorial. I have a Facebook account, allow SCRIBD to access it and still I get an error message that says it is unavailable.

Great idea- thanks for posting tutorial. But how does it hold 16 cards? I see only 6 slots.

I made this and the instuctions were great and the wallet is super cute. However, after making it, I think the cards could easily fall out the side of the wallet. I’m wondering if next time I might change the size and direction of the pockets so they could go vertical instead of horizontal so the cards can’t fall out. Maybe I will experiment with that next time. What do you think?

Although I hate to admit it, my vision is not as g Although I hate to admit it, my vision is not as good as it used to be. I struggle to thread needles at night. When @sohmo invited me to road test their new collection of needles, I was intrigued to try the Easy Thread Needles.

The needles have a clever indention on top of the eye - you push down with the thread and voila! A quickly threaded needle without the need for needle threaders etc. I am working on a new project with lots of buttons and the needle worked perfectly.

SOHMO Easy-thread needles include three sizes in the pack - 5 gauge, 6 gauge and 7 gauge and are suitable for quick mending tasks, sewing on buttons, and embroidery.

These needles are pretty and practical! The best part is they come in super cute little tins with a sliding lid (I have a weakness for attractive packaging!) There are 5 different needle types available to suit a variety of needs. Needles are made in Japan and are strong and sharp.

Have you discovered a new sewing product recently? Please share below in the comments - I love learning about new sewing tools/gadgets to make life easier.
