Totoro Elastic Pencil Case

August 4, 2019 By A Spoonful of Sugar - Leave a Comment

One of my children loves the Japanese animated fantasy film, My Neighbour Totoro. I have made her a Totoro Elastic Pencil Case. With the handy elastic strap it attaches to a journal so you always have your writing tools on hand. I found some sweet Totoro fabric on Etsy, and combined it with coordinating Dear Stella fabrics.

With a new school year starting for children in the northern hemisphere, I have marked down the Elastic Pencil Case Pattern by 20% until August 16 2019. You can find it in my Etsy store. It is a quick beginner friendly pattern and is perfect for those getting organised to head back to school. It can be easily made in an afternoon. The fun part of this pattern is choosing 3-4 corodinating fabrics for the exterior of the Pencil Case, plus another fabric for the lining. You have a “one of a kind” pencil case as a result.

You can check out some of our other Elastic Pencil Cases here. They are so much fun to make and are both pretty and practical! They make lovely gifts for children, students, or anyone who loves to Journal. Pattern is available in our Etsy store.

Check out our other Totoro themed projects here. For more inspiration, head to our Back to School posts.

Sewing relaxes your body and mind. Sewing is a form of meditation, as you focus on your breathing and the rhythm of the needle. Sewing can also lower your blood pressure, heart rate and muscle tension, which improves your overall health.
