Tilda Heart of the Home Mini Quilt

Heart of the Home Mini Quilt made using Tilda Cabbage Roses and Memory Lane fabrics.

I was lucky enough to receive bundle of new Tilda fabric – Memory Lane and Cabbage Rose fabric ranges – from the Australian distributor, Two Green Zebras. These fabrics come in sweet shades of pink, blue, green, navy, red, and orange. Featuring cute bunnies and florals, it is such a versatile fabric range and I have incorporated it into a number of recent projects.  I made a Tilda version of my Heart of the Home Mini Quilt. This mini quilt consists of 9 hearts which are foundation paper pieced. In this version I have used two prints from the same colour family in each of the hearts.

These hearts were so much fun to piece, and really showcase all the beautiful prints in this fat quarter bundle.

I don’t usually use much orange in my projects. The orange in these prints works so well with the pink and teal colours. The orange really makes the project pop.

The florals vary in scale which make them a versatile addition to your fabric stash.I particularly love the tiny floral print which comes in a number of colourways.

The Heart of the Home Mini Quilt pattern is available in our Pattern Shop and Etsy store. (It includes a bonus pattern to make Heart of the Home Coasters). It is a great project to master foundation paper piecing.

I also made a little pinwheel pincushion measuring 4 inches square. You can find a free tutorial to make a similar pincushion over at Allie and Me (The post is in German but it has step by step photos and is a beginner friendly project). I love the 3D effect.

• overlap slightly
