Tea Card

March 19, 2013 By Spoonful of Sugar - 5 Comments

A Tea Card, with a little pocket for an individual tea bag, would make a lovely invitation for a High Tea or special celebration; or a cheerful little treat for a friend. We first made Tea Cards several years ago. Recently a lovely reader asked us for more detail on how to make them so we have included some directions and a  template so you can make your own Tea Card.

Gather your supplies:

  • template
  • white card
  • pretty papers
  • paper doiley
  • washi tape
  • rubber stamp/ stamp pad (Stamp Marche Kodomo – Tea)
  • small tag
  • bakers twine
  • embossing label maker
  • glue dots
  • foam squares
  • tea bag (we used Twinings Tea Bag – template may need to be adjusted for other sized bags).
Trace the template onto white card and cut out the card. Score and fold along lines as indicated on the template. Cut a piece of scrap booking paper to fit the front cover, and a piece to fit the inside flap. Attach with double sided tape. Decorate with doilies, washi tape, flowers cut from pretty paper, stamps etc. Glue down the flap along the side and bottom to create a pocket for your tea bag. Add an embossed message using a Dymo label maker. Decorate the tea bag with a piece of washi tape, and place it in the pocket.

You can find our original Tea Cards here.
