Swaps and More

July 15, 2008 By Spoonful of Sugar - 39 Comments

Sarah and I have been having fun with swaps over the past few weeks. Our lovely swap partner, Carla, has received our pincushions now so we are able to post some pictures. As we are a team, Sarah and I both made a pincushion for Carla.

This is the one Sarah made…..

……and I made this little hedgehog (although I think it looks more like a mouse without a tail!), a matching tape measure cover, and needlebook.

Our cupcake swap package has been mailed off so we will post pics when it has been received. We have also signed up for the Childrens Sewing Kit Swap and are busily putting together a kit for our partner.

Sarah and I decoupaged some clipboards after seeing these. I was thrilled to find Mod Podge at Riot.

I have been busy labeling everything in sight in our sewing room using my sticker machine. I have never been so organized!

If you are looking for inspiration for Christmas or other gift occasions, check out the compilation of great ideas at 30 Handmade Days.

Well done with your swaps – the things you and Sarah made look great! I am very impressed with all of your labelling – makes me feel entirely inferior with my pile of knitting and sewing bags piled up in the corner of my lounge! Thanks for the link to 30 Handmade Days – what a treasure trove of ideas! x

I am a tad bit envious of your organized craft area. Mine was organized, but true to my form, if it can’t stay as organized as I’d like the area turns into disarray quite fast. Also thanks for the craft link, I’m heading there now looking for a good gift for a birthday on friday.

Good job at all of your organizing! I don’t have a craft room, but I have a craft corner just off of my kitchen and I hope to re-organize it within the next couple of weeks! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas!

Well aren’t you very well organized, you will put us all to shame!
My problem is that I start of really well organized, then as I am merrily sewing along my sewing room seems to blow up around me, guess I will have to try to be a bit tidier.

Your new craft space looks fantastic…you must love having a designated area. And I’m loving that sticker machine…must get myself one of those.

The hedgehog pincushion is very cute too… just don’t tell anyone it is a hedgehog… lol

I really do love the tape measure cover. It looks great and I’ve never seen a covered tape measure. Have you seen it done before, or was it a flash of inspiration? Very clever either way!

You are amazingly organised now! Goodness… I am literally leaving the computer right this second to go organise my sewing room… its a disgrace! *blush*
