Stitch Magazine – Summer 2011

April 21, 2011 By Spoonful of Sugar - 22 Comments

The latest issue of Stitch Magazine has just been published and it is all about Colour. I was lucky enough to have three projects included.

My favourite is the Elephant Placemats that I made using a repurposed Malaysian Batik Sarong for the elephant appliqués. I think they will be perfect next time I make an Asian inspired meal..

I also made a Table Runner with sashiko embroidered circles teamed with some Pippijoe fabric.

Lastly I made a wallet using some Japanese indigo prints and a few 50 Yen coins for decoration.

It is a lovely issue with some gorgeous projects from some of my favourite designers including – Jenny, Penny, and Ayumi.  Stitch magazine is now published quarterly.

Congrats on having three projects in the new Stitch magazine! I love the sashiko circles/bubbles on the table runner (very elegant) and your clever use of the coins on the wallet.

Wow – love all of your designs! The elephants are fabulous, and I am going to have to get the magazine to make the darling wallet…was just fingering my Japanese indigos yesterday, and put them in their own little pile so that I could start a new project with them. Now I know what it will be. CONGRATS on all of your designs!

Love the elephant place mats. I don not think I could ever be able to use them as such though, they are way to pretty.

Great projects! All of them are great. The table runner would look great for our flat. I must find out how I can buy a copy of Stitch Magazine from the UK.

I always love your projects in Stitch, Lisa! My favorite is the wallet with three 50 yens sewn! That is really creative! Did you know that any coin that has a hole like that is usually associated with bringing a luck in Japan?!
The elephant placemats are gorgeous too~!!
