Sewing Accessories Pouch

June 11, 2013 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 9 Comments

Sewing Accessories pouchThere is nothing quite like a sewing retreat to reignite your passion for sewing and quilting. This past weekend, I went on my annual sewing retreat with a lovely group of crafty types (including fellow bloggers – Janelle from Janellybelly Bags and Things, Jemima from Tied with a Ribbon, and Claire from Claire Turpin Design). We were all working on our own projects and it was wonderful to be able to talk sewing and fabric with others who speak the same language.

I worked on a number of projects, including this sweet little sewing accessories pouch. It is sized to fit your sewing threads and would be perfect when going to sewing classes. sewing group or retreats, as you can easily store 4 spools of thread in the pouch, and 8 bobbins in the little inside pockets. The individual pockets to store the bobbins ensures that your bobbins doesn’t unwind and get tangled in transit.

The pouch is sized at 4 inches in width (along the base), 2 1/2 inches high, and 6 inch zip.It is made from a linen print fabric and gingham, with pompom trim.

I stitched on my monogram using French Laundry Tape. I searched the Marche aux Puces Saint-Ouen (Paris Flea Market)  for this vintage laundry tape without success. I have been searching Etsy (there are a number of sellers who stock vintage French laundry tape) until my initials came up at Nifty Thrifty Dry Goods.
Do you like our new Eiffel Tower scissors? I found the vintage spool at the Marche aux Puces Saint-Ouen and the lovely linen trim was found at Des Files et Une Aiguille.

The pouch was inspired by a photo seen in a Japanese Sewing Magazine with a few modifications.
