Raspberry Ice

December 16, 2012 By Spoonful of Sugar - 6 Comments

A quick, fun and festive idea for Christmas entertaining is Raspberry Ice. It is so simple – pop a raspberry or strawberry into an ice cube tray. Fill with water and freeze. Hey presto … you have raspberry ice! We used a star ice cube tray that we purchased from Ikea many years ago. The star shaped ice looks festive.

The cubes would be fun to add to Champagne, sparkling grape juice, punch, or water. We think it adds a lovely festive touch.

We used frozen raspberries which turned the water around the berry pink/ red. Fresh berries would leave the ice clear.

I am sure the kids would love to get involved slicing fruit and making ice. Anything that makes fruit fun is a winner!

So pretty! I bet these would be great in plain old water, but I also love the idea of adding it to champagne or a martini.
