Mothers Day Crafts

May 13, 2009 By Spoonful of Sugar - 33 Comments

For Mothers Day, I decided to make some cupcakes. I used a basic chocolate cupcake recipe, and then made flowers with musk sticks and marshmallows. I dipped the marshmallows in white chocolate and then added sprinkles and M & M’s.

For our Mum’s, my friend and I made a woven heart basket, which we filled with magnets. We made the magnets out of beer bottle caps. We punched circles out of encyclopedia text using a 1 inch punch. We embellished them with punched flowers and diamontes. We glued a magnet to the back.

I also made a card.

At school, we decorated a white tile with peel and stick paint.

It’s always the handmade pressies from their kids that a Mum loves most (and makes them come over all mushy)!

and the magnets are just the cutest things…they would look so jazzy on the fridge…maybe to hold that great card for all to see…
