Kaleidoscope Quilt Block (also known as the Windmill block) is our latest Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) Quilt Block in our pattern store. This is a versatile block that creates a striking pattern when joined together. You can mix it up by making the inner sections the dominant colour and the corner sections low volume to create an entirely different pattern. Our PDF pattern includes colouring sheets so you can experiment with different colours and layouts before you start sewing.
The Kaleidoscope Quilt Block pattern includes 5 handy sizes – 2 inch, 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch, and 6 inch – perfect for your next project! These are great for your scrap basket – they look effective sewn in a variety of bright colours. You can incoprorate the small mini blocks into bags, pouches, mini quilts, pillows and more.

When constructing small block, I like to use small scale or blender prints. In these samples I have use small scale florals, ginghams, polka dots and blender prints, combine with low volume fabrics.
