Our Growing Collection of Kokeshi Dolls |
There hasn’t been much sewing or crafting happening around these parts this week. Getting back into the work routine seemed to stifle my creativity, plus we had the added excitement of my son’s Year 12 School Ball. It was a very proud moment seeing him all dressed up – I still can’t believe he is in his last year of high school.
I spent some time over the weekend tidying up and reorganising my crafty space and hope to get back in there this week to work on some projects.
My rubber stamps are now housed in an old cigar box. Hopefully by having them out I might be tempted to use them – I don’t do much card making these days.
Have finally labelled the rest of my supplies.
The book shelf has been tidied.
My collection of Japanese craft books is growing. I am eagerly awaiting delivery of this Japanese book (it will be the first Japanese craft book that I have that is translated into English!)
I have prettied up my workstation with some aqua and red supplies.
I have put my collection of Bonne Maman jars to good use. I especially love the mini jars.
Hope to get started on some new projects this week!
Love the Kokeshi dolls!! I have a few Japanese Crochet books that I picked up when I lived in Japan.. Love them. The projects are just THE most beautiful. I cannot read them, but I can follow the patterns just fine as the symbols are easy to follow. (Thank goodness!)
The mini jars are so, so cute!
Lol! Do you plan to use your work space or will it stay so pretty and neat and tidy?? It all looks fabulous! Love the dolls!
I often find that if I take the time to tidy up my sewing area, it motivates me to make a whole new mess!!
Lisa, your work space is lovely! We also have a kokeshi collection around here!!rs…Aila loves these beauties!!
I wish you have a wonderful week!
Love, Bela.
Oh it looks so nice and organised! Not sure that I would want to use it!!!Looking forward to seeing what you create next.
I could do with you to come and organise my studio. It looks so pretty!
Oh what a pretty place to have you work in! I am jealous cos I sew in a tiny corner of my bedroom with all my supplies stored in various parts of our little apartment! Ah..one day! The dolls are so cute!

what a great feeling to have all your supplies organized! I love your methods for some of the treasures, like the old cigar box and the cute little jars. Hope you get time to do some crafting soon!
Your area looks awesome! I started doing some serious organizing this week – but nothing nearly as beautiful looking as yours! Love the red and aqua touches. (and I’m a strumpet for a label-maker 😉

Hi
Just wondering where you bought the plastic boxes with the white lids – great size
thanks
I love your mini jars … and I’m intrigued by some of the titles on your book shelf. I’d love to know which are your favorites.
All looking very organised and pretty Lisa! Hope it inspires some creativity…although it’s usually more a time issue than a creativity issue, huh? Especially love the red and aqua…mmmmmmmm!
Do you travel and will you come and do my sewing room Lisa. I think your Kokeshi dolls are absolutely gorgeous.
Hi Lisa!
I hope that the routine becomes easier and the mojo (or energy) returns soon! 🙂
Your craft space is looking pretty amazing!!! Love your pics, and labelling, and those cute wee jars! And the stationery supplies – what an inspirational place your studio is!
Hugs! Vikki xo
Wow — will you come and clean up my space? I think I have too much junk — I need to start with throwing stuff out. I sure wish my pens and tape looked as pretty as yours do!
It all looks beautiful, I wonder what will be creatively produced this year…
Can’t wait to see Brenton’s ball photos, plus all your goodies from Japan, at our catch up this week.
Janelle xx
I LOVE your kokeshi collection, I have 15 now.

Lovely! Cleaning and tiding up is a very good way to start-up your creativity. For sure, many nice things to be produced in that beautiful environment. Congrats!
A good clean up and organising session can be very inspiring! I really love Bonne Maman jars with their pretty checkered tops too.
I have a collection of Kokeshi dolls as well. My oldest ones were given to me in 1973. The colors are a bit faded but I think they are still gorgeous!
So wish I was as organized like this…maybe I have to declutter some…lol wish you all the luck and thanks for the inspiration… Have to ask… Where to buy the doily rubber stamps… Have looked for this for a long time.. But can’t find in Sweden…:0)
Your organization skills really show off. The way you store things are beautiful.
Great job of organizing you craft stuff. I love how it all looks. Now you will know where everythin is located. Enjoy,
Oh wow! I look at all of your pictures and I think ‘Yes, this is how organised I want to be!’… It just never happens. I think my partner wishes I was this organised too 😉 I love the red and aqua stationery 🙂 x
