{Book Reviews} Paper Blooms, and Quick and Easy Quilting Patterns

November 12, 2013 By A Spoonful of Sugar - Leave a Comment

Paper Blooms, 25 Extraordinary Flowers to Make for Weddings, Celebrations, & More, by Jeffrey Rudell is brimming with innovative and modern flower designs. The flowers can be used as elegant home décor accents or to decorate your next party.

The flowers are all constructed from three main techniques – using strips of paper, using paper punches, and using hand cut shapes. Flowers represented in this lovely volume include: Daisy, English Rose, Dogwood, Tiger Lily, Orchid, Poppy, Daffodil and more. Each flower is shown with lots of step by step photos to guide you through the process. All patterns are full sized so you will have no difficulty making the flowers. Projects range in complexity.

A range of materials are used for the flowers including: tissue, origami, rice, vellum, handmade papers and more. The flowers can be arranged as displays or used to adorn place settings, cupcakes, gift boxes and more. The gorgeous photography in the book gives plenty of inspiration.

If you enjoy paper crafting and love to make original decorations, then you will love Paper Blooms.
