It was a happy mail day today when my order of Bliss arrived from the Ladybug Quilt Shop. This is destined to be a new quilt for Sarah. We will be giving her room a make-over during the summer holidays – with an aqua and red theme.
I can’t wait to get started on it!
Here is the finished bunting for Sarah’s bulletin board. I just taped the divine twine to the back of the little flags instead of punching holes in them. Sarah was thrilled with it.
I have a thing for mini bunting at the moment – I love the mini bunting that Anna made to decorate her colleagues computer, and the Ikea lantern that was given a bunting makeover by You Had Me at Bonjour . When I was at Kikki K today I spotted some sweet goodie bags with a bunting design (I was very tempted but resisted buying them).
Have you seen the new muffin tins and liners at Ikea? I spotted them last week and was unable to resist. I like the shape of the muffin – a bit smaller than my regular muffin tin. Of course the taller shape impacts on the crunchy muffin top to muffin ratio but this is made up for with the elegance of the slim shape.
I made up a batch of Spiced Pumpkin Muffins for afternoon tea. You can find the recipe on this post.
I picked up a copy of the Country Christmas Issue of Handmade Magazine while I was out today. It features a couple of my projects. It was a challenge to make something in the country style as I seem to gravitate towards brighter colours these days. It was fun to use some of the Christmas prints from my stash – I bought these fabrics when I was living in Houston about 10 years ago.
Here is my Cosy Christmas Set
and a festive tea towel.
Nearly time to pick up the kids from school – hope you all have a great weekend!
The red nad aqua fabrics are lovely! I bought the ikea paper cases but our store had run out of tins – they do look fab.
What lovely vibrant colours for Sarah’s new quilt.
I quite like the reindeer fabric you used.
Keep stashing, even your lovely new colours may one day come in handy when you have yet again a different colour preference.
How wonderful to have your projects published in yet another magazine!
Love the bunting for the computer you linked to!
Lucky Sarah to get a quilt from such lovely faabrics.
The Bliss looks gorgeous – love those colours too.
And how good does that recipe sound, yum. And a good way to hide some pumpkin in my kids’ food, great idea (and a break from Flo’s pumpkin scones)! We are well into autumn over here, so these will go down a treat.
Did you go to Kikki K AGAIN today? LOL…so jealous 🙂 I was planning to go there today too, but the wind played havoc with my hayfever 🙁 so I stayed inside. Bliss looks divine…can’t wait to see it IRL!
Congrats on your latest mag publications…you are a superstar!
Red & pale blue, my favourite patchwork combination, love love!! How cute is that paper bunting, love Posie
very COOL stuff!! Love the red on the muffin tin, who could resist??
happy weekend ,./bullentin board looks so good,..
Pure bliss!
Love the mini Ikea tins! too cute!
I didn’t realize you used to live in Houston?! We are only 4 hours away in Louisiana and go to Houston often to visit friends that live there!
I wish we had an Ikea near us! Everyone blogs about all the wonderful finds they get from that store. Love your mini bunting! I think this would look cool in my sewing room. Love that Bliss fabric too – seems to be all the rage these day! It’s going to make a beautiful quilt!
Hi, girls!!
Your posts always make me full of willing to make pretty projects!!! Your color match is just perfect and Sarah’s quilt is going to be bright and cute!!!
Christmas projects are awesome!!!
Love!! Bela.
your blog today is so full of good things i will have to go back and read it again. i love love the pile of fabrics. fun.
Thank you so much for letting us know how the mini bunting was made, it’s delightful! Your mini muffins are very cute (and make me hungry!), I will definately be trying out that recipe. And congrats on your beautiful christmas project – loving that reindeer print!
I got a couple of yards of Bliss fabric for my laundry room. Even though it is not sewn up, just having lying around in there happies the room up. (I just invented a new word!) Next time I am at IKEA (rare – it’s 1.5 hours away) I want to look for those tall muffin tins.
I bought some of the Ikea paper liners but I have not used them yet. I do not have a tin the right shape and depth. Could a problem I think!
Eeeek! That bunting looks adorable hanging on Sarah’s bulletin board! I can’t wait to see the matching quilt — I love bliss. I have a fat quarter pack and a plan but too many projects and too little time! I haven’t seen those cute muffins either — they’re too cute and they look delicious. (And thanks again for the shout out!)
