I couldn’t resist making a special card for my sweetheart (we will be celebrating 20 years of married bliss in a few months time! )
I printed out a copy of William Shakespeare’s 18th sonnet on white card (“Shall I Compare Thee to a Summers Day?” – it was the most romantic poem that came to mind! ) and punched it out using a heart punch, and added a red heart with button detail. Simple but sweet 🙂
Sarah also has been inspired by Valentines Day. She baked up a big batch of gingerbread men and gave them pink and red buttons. They are delicious – somehow I don’t think they will last long.
When we were in Japan I was amazed at the range of baking supplies that were available at the 100 yen shops such as Daiso. I stocked up on a lots of baking cups/patty pans. Here are some of my Valentines Day supplies – no doubt they will inspire more Valentines Baking over the coming week.
Wow where to start. Your card looks wonderful, such a clever idea and as to Sarahs cooking-YUM-i could eat one right now and I am soooo jealous of your cup cakes holders they are gorgeous. Linda My first week back was ok a few hiccups but you get those, thanks for thinking of me.
Gingerbread men are my very favourite – actually any gingery dessert really, but gingerbread men make me smile. Congratulations on 20 years – and may you have at least 20 more filled with happiness and baking !
What a gorgeous – and romantic – card! I am sure your “sweetheart” will ber thrilled with it! Love, love, love those cupcake cases too. You do find the best things!
I love your blog. It is so inspirational. It’s like a little present each time it is opened. Thank you for sharing your life with me. Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
Sweet card for your Hubby! Congrats on 20 years!! My Hubby and I will be celebrating 15 in September. Love the cookies, may have to go make some tonight! Now one OK two questions, why can’t we get those cute roung cup things from Japan in the states?! So adorable!! Also about your log cabin pillow that you made. If you were making one for a bedspread would you also make the pillow the same or different?
Just Love your Valentines Card 🙂 I married the boy next door 20 years ago next month. We are off for a second honeymoonto the place where we had our first 🙂 Wishing you a wonderful Anniversary too. Cheers Lynne
Beautiful card, Lisa! And such pretty baking supplies/papers! I was making Valentine’s and baking some Valentine treats during the weekend too. :o) Happy Week ((HUGS))
