Ribbon Pouch

November 24, 2025 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 1 Comment

I’m excited to share my newest sewing pattern with you—the Ribbon Pouch (3 Sizes)! This beginner‑friendly design is quick to sew and perfect for turning fabric scraps into something truly special. I stitched up samples using some of my favourite Liberty Tana Lawn prints paired with linen, adding sweet details like labels, tags, and ribbons for a personal touch. With three versatile sizes included, the Ribbon Pouch is ideal for gifting treats, treasures, or even serving as reusable fabric gift wrap. If you loved the Mini Treat Pouch, you’ll adore this elevated version that’s just as easy but with even more charm.

Benefits of the Ribbon Pouch

  • Beginner‑friendly: No zips required, making it approachable for new sewists.
  • Quick project: Each pouch can be sewn in about an hour, perfect for last‑minute gifts.
  • Three sizes included: Small, medium, and large options give flexibility for different occasions.
  • Customizable details: Add labels, tags, or decorative ribbons to make each pouch uniquely yours.
  • Ribbon closure: The grommet and ribbon tie create a sweet bow finish, adding elegance and making the pouch perfect for gift giving.
  • Eco‑friendly alternative: A reusable pouch that replaces disposable wrapping, making it thoughtful and sustainable

Why Use Liberty Tana Lawn and Linen

Liberty Tana Lawn is a timeless favourite for many makers, and for good reason:

  • Luxurious feel: Soft, smooth, and lightweight, it’s a joy to sew and wear.
  • Classic prints: Designs like Capel and Poppy & Daisy bring sophistication and charm to handmade projects.
  • Durability: Despite its delicate feel, Tana Lawn is strong and long‑lasting, ensuring your pouch will be treasured for years.

Pairing Liberty with linen adds texture and structure, creating a beautiful contrast between the crisp lawn and the natural weave of linen. Together, they elevate the ribbon pouch into something that feels both modern and timeless.

Pattern Availability

The Ribbon Pouch Sewing Pattern (3 Sizes) is available now in both my Pattern Store and Etsy Shop. The downloadable PDF includes 16 pages of step‑by‑step instructions, professionally drawn illustrations, and plenty of photos to guide you through the process. Templates are provided in both A4 and Letter sizes for easy printing at home.

The Ribbon Pouch is a project that combines simplicity with style. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a confidence‑boosting make or an experienced sewist wanting a quick, stash‑friendly project, this pattern is sure to become a favourite. With its ribbon closure, customizable details, and Liberty fabric options, it’s perfect for holiday sewing, birthdays, weddings, or everyday gifting. I can’t wait to see how you make it your own—share your creations with the hashtag #ribbonpouch so our community can be inspired by your handmade touches.

Hi Lisa! I love your patterns and am excited to see your new Ribbon Pouch pattern.

Do you use a grommet setter? Is there one that you recommend? I have tried setting grommets with my Crop-A-Dile but the grommets are not setting correctly and become malformed.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Teresa C.
