Spring has finally arrived in Australia and we are looking forward to lots of outdoor entertaining in the warmer months. Outdoor entertaining means spring inspired trivets, placemats, and coasters. Here is a Trivet and Coaster Set that I made using the beginner friendly pdf pattern, Easy Hexagon Trivet and Coasters. This pattern is the perfect way to showcase the gorgeous bee-inspired fabrics and lovely co-ordinating solids in the Queen Bee Collection for Devonstone Collections (due to be released in October).
The wonderful feature of this pattern is you can achieve equilateral triangles without having to sew any tricky seams. It is a great scrapbuster project and makes a lovely gift. I have used a combination of prints and solids which allows you to showcase the fabrics. The Queen Bee fabric range has lots of bees, honeycomb/hexagons, crowns, stripes and more.

The pattern is a 14 page ePattern which includes full sized templates to make the Trivet (or placemat) and Coasters. It includes loads of step by step photos to guide the beginner sewer through the project. They can be easily constructed in under an hour making it the perfect afternoon sewing project.
