You can never have too many pincushions, right?? I had so much fun making the Scrappy Star Pincushion, that I had to make three. I used Retro 30’s Child Smile 2015 fabrics by Lecien Fabrics paired with some white linen for this project. Love the bright primary colours which look great with vintage buttons.
The Scrappy Star pincushion features a patchwork star flower and will add colour to your sewing room. They would make a lovely gift for a crafty friend and would be perfect to pop in a swap package. It is a modern take on the traditional French Biscornu style pincushions. Made from cotton and linen “scraps”, it can be easily assembled in an afternoon and is a beginner friendly project.
I love the shape of the Scrappy Star Pincushion and is a great way to feature some of your favourite fabrics.
I added some sweet monogram ribbon to my pincushions.
The vintage sewing supplies came from my Mum and Nan’s sewing boxes – I can’t resist vintage sewing supplies.
The Scrappy Star Pincushion is available as a 10 page pdf ePattern over in our Pattern Shop and Etsy store, and is available for immediate download.
