You can never have too many pincushions, right?? I had so much fun making the Scrappy Star Pincushion, that I had to make three. I used Retro 30’s Child Smile 2015 fabrics by Lecien Fabrics paired with some white linen for this project. ย Love the bright primary colours which look great with vintage buttons.
The Scrappy Star pincushion features a patchwork star flower and will add colour to your sewing room. They would make a lovely gift for a crafty friend and would be perfect to pop in a swap package.ย It is a modern take on the traditional French Biscornu style pincushions. Made from cotton and linen โscrapsโ, it can be easily assembled in an afternoon and is a beginner friendly project.
I love the shape of the Scrappy Star Pincushion and is a great way to feature some of your favourite fabrics.
I added some sweet monogram ribbon to my pincushions.
The vintage sewing supplies came from my Mum and Nan’s sewing boxes – I can’t resist vintage sewing supplies.
The Scrappy Star Pincushion is available as a 10 page pdf ePattern over in our Pattern Shop and Etsy store, and is available for immediate download.
I love your pin cushion, I have a box of scraps that could benefit from a project like this. Thanks for sharing. Your pictures and instructions are always so colorful
Thanks so much Amanda! I have been working to improve my photos so glad you are enjoying them. Hope you have a crafty day!
How lovely! My daughter has been collecting fabric scraps for a while already. A pincushion would be the perfect project.
Thanks – hope you daughter enjoys some sewing time with you.
