Chinese New Year will be celebrated on 31 January this year, and 2014 is the year of the horse. We don’t have anyone in our family who is born in the year of the horse, but if you follow the Chinese Zodiac, people born in the year of the horse are clever, kind, animated, and energetic. We will always remember the year we celebrated Chinese New Year in Shanghai. The fireworks were amazing and went for hours!
We spotted instructions to make little Origami Pinwheel Envelopes over at Les Surprises. The instructions are in French but there are helpful, step by step diagrams which were easy to follow. Once you have mastered the fold, they literally only take a few minutes to make.
We love the tradition of giving red envelopes for Chinese New Year. Origami Pinwheel Envelopes would be perfect for Chinese New Year or to enclose a gift card.
