Ready to add a touch of handmade charm to your home? Let’s sew a delightful patchwork tree coaster together! 🌳✨
Materials Needed:
- Tree Charm Block
- Backing fabric
- Batting
- Crochet edge polka dot bias tape
This quick holiday project makes a sweet gift and is perfect for adding a festive touch to your home.
Instructions:
- Create the Tree Charm Block: Use our Tree Charm foundation paper piecing pattern, which includes 3 tree styles. Cut the backing and batting to match the size of the tree block.
- Layer and Quilt: Layer the backing, batting, and tree block together. Quilt as desired.
- Round the Corners: Use a 2-inch circle template to draw rounded corners and cut them.
- Zigzag Stitch: Stitch around the outside of the coaster using a small zigzag stitch.
- Attach Bias Tape: Pin the bias tape around the outside of the coaster backing and stitch in place.
- Finish with Bias Tape: Fold the bias tape to the front, use a glue stick or pins to position it, and stitch to secure.
Your finished coaster will be a charming 6-inch piece, including the crochet edge. Don’t forget to check out our Instagram reel to see how this was made.
