Stitched Gift Cards

October 13, 2012 By Spoonful of Sugar - 12 Comments

To fit with our French Inspired  / Red Gingham Christmas theme, we have made some Gingham Gift Cards. Our gift wrap this year will be white, so we wanted our gift cards to be fairly simple. Stars and Hearts will be perfect.

We ironed some Steam a Seam Fusible Web to the wrong side of the gingham fabric, and then cut out the stars and hearts. We peeled off the paper backing and then positioned the appliqué on the front of the gift card. The great feature of Steam a Seam is that it is repositionable and will stay in place while you stitch so there is no need to iron the shape onto the card. We stitched around the shape close to the edge, and pulled the threads to the back.

Now we can cross gift cards off our Christmas list.

How adorable! I’d like to see the inside-front, is it covered or left with the outline of the shape? Very cute idea!
