Since organising all my fabric scraps last week, I have been using them in a few scrappy projects. It is so good to have a pile of precut squares and strips at the ready. I am working on some designs projects at the moment, and it is fun to be able to pull out some scraps for some quick mindless sewing in between more involved projects.
I had some fabric offcuts from making the Mormor Triangle Quilt. I put together 64 x 1 1/2 inch squares to make this pot holder which is layered with cotton batting and insul brite. I alternated the light and dark squares. Love the jewel tones of this fabric. It went together quickly and will be well used in our kitchen. I love to change over our pot holders frequently. With all the baking we do, they don’t last long!
(I just noticed that I took these photos before giving the scrappy pot holder a good press. You can see the holes left by the safety pins – oops!)

Such a cute little project! And a great way to use such small scraps. I can always use more potholders in our kitchen/

This is beautiful! Much prettier than any potholder in my kitchen! 🙂
I’d be tempted to hang it on the wall instead of using it, because it’s so pretty!
