I am all about eco-friendly gift-wrapping options this Holiday season. There are so many festive fabric options available to make your own gift bags. I found adorable Mickey Mouse fabric at Spotlight and made a Santa Sack. Best of all, the gift bags can be reused year after year. They are also a handy size to store your Christmas decorations or Christmas quilts. So many uses!
This Santa Sack is great for bulky gifts and is sized at 18 x 27 inches. I used the Classic Laundry Bag pattern which is a great size for holding a number of gifts. The front of the sack features a coordinating fabric and pompom trim. You could use ricrac, lace, or any other embellishment on the front of the sack. I think the pompom trim is very festive, don’t you? These Santa Sack’s look great under the tree on Christmas morning.
The Santa Sack is fully lined and has a drawstring closure.
You can find the Classic Laundry Bag pattern in our Pattern Store and Etsy Shop for immediate download. This pattern is suitable for a confident beginner sewist. It includes sewing straight lines and how to thread a drawstring through the drawstring channel.
