Relaxing in Penang

Flower 1One of the things we love to do together as a family is travel. It is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons and it is always fun to explore new places, cultures, and foods. Travelling with teens is lots of fun – it is a great opportunity to build memories as a family, and enjoy each others company away from computers and the stress of everyday life.

This year we ended our summer holidays with a wonderful trip to Penang, Malaysia. We wanted a relaxing holiday where we could enjoy a warm climate, relax poolside, read plenty of books, and soak in the atmosphere. Penang is a great destination for families and there is plenty to do including beach activities, sight-seeing, shopping, and more. There are plenty of  great resorts in the Batu Ferringhi area, which is right on the beach. We stayed at the Park Royal which was a comfortable hotel and good proximity to the night markets.  The night markets operate along the sidewalk every evening and there are loads of stalls selling souvenirs, handbags, clothing, and more. There were lots of great restaurants nearby, including Hard Rock Cafe, and Ferringhi Garden Restaurant. From the hotel it was approximately 20 minute taxi ride into George Town where there are a number of modern shopping malls as well as historic sites.

We didn’t take many photos on our holiday. It was nice just to relax and enjoy ourselves without remembering to photograph everything. One day. I walked around the lovely gardens at our resort and photographed the wide variety of tropical flowers.

It was such a relaxing holiday which really helped us to recharge our batteries before returning to work, school and university for another busy year.

    Malaysia is my country, glad to hear u like all the thing in Penang. Hopefully u can come again visit other interested place in Malaysia.

      We love Malaysia Lisa! We have also visited Kota Kinabalu a few times which is a great holiday destination.
