Pretty Patchwork Jewellery Wrap

June 13, 2016 By A Spoonful of Sugar - Leave a Comment

Pretty Patchwork Jewellery Wrap from A Spoonful of Sugar, by Lisa Cox

Small patchwork projects are perfect when you have a free afternoon. I combined pretty small print florals, polka dots, and gingham in this Jewellery Wrap. The patchwork panel was combined with some osnaburg – a natural woven fabric – and heavily quilted with horizontal quilting.

Pretty Patchwork Jewellery Wrap from A Spoonful of Sugar, by Lisa CoxI found the perfect linen gingham bias binding in my stash. I bought it a few years ago in Japan (Captain 88 brand).  The interior of the wrap features three zippered pockets – so you can safely store your jewellery, or other small items, when travelling. These wraps make a lovely gift.

A Spoonful of Sugar Sew Along

Don’t forget the #aspoonfulofsugarsal is currently running over on instagram. Follow the hashtag to see what everyone is making! So many creative items are being made. I am inspired to see so many people trying techniques that are new to them – chicken scratch embroidery, crochet, sashiko etc – to make one of  kind projects. I love the community over on Instagram – participants are leaving such lovely encouraging comments for each other.   If you would like to join in the fun, make a project or two from A Spoonful of Sugar, and share on instagram using the hashtag #aspoonfulofsugarsal  The Sew Along runs from June 1 to August 9, 2016. Each round lasts for two weeks, and there will be a winner each round (as judged by the talented Amy Sinibaldi from Nana Company). Prizes are generously sponsored by Ministry of Fabric. The winner of the first round will win this gorgeous bundle of goodies. We really hope you will join us. Sewing is more fun when you do it with friends!
