Introducing the Pocketful of Sunshine Bag. This little cutie is constructed with a low volume exterior fabric which lets the brightly coloured divided pocket and lining shine. It is a happy and cheerful make, and the perfect afternoon project.
In these colourful Pocketful of Sunshine Bags, I used fabrics from the Petunia range by Ruby Star Society. The bright prints look great on the pocket and I combined them with low volume and blender fabrics I had in my stash.
The exterior pocket sits on the front of the bag and is divided in two. The pocket lining peeks through to the front of the pouch, to provide a contrasting strip at the top of the pocket.
The Pocketful of Sunshine Bag can be easily made in around 90 minutes. It can be used as a gift bag, or to hold small items around your sewing room or home. They add colour whilst also being practical
For the drawstring I used braided nylon cord/Chinese knotting cord, but any thin/medium cord would work in this project. The boxed corners allow the bag to stand up by itself.
