"A Pain in the Neck"

September 22, 2011 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 19 Comments

After a nasty whiplash injury over 20 years ago, I still have ongoing neck pain. One of the best ways to relieve it is by applying a heat pack. I designed myself a long heat pack that I can drape around my neck and shoulders. Filled with wheat and lavender, it always soothes my neck pain.
I prettied it up by making a cover for it, using waffle weave cotton and a some pretty patchwork, with a button closure.

Bliss….

Sorry to hear you have a pain. But I guess even only have a look at the pack, it’s a pain relief.

I have neck problems as well. Mom bought me a handmade buckwheat bag and it’s very soothing. Your heat pack is so pretty. The lavender must smell heavenly. I believe in aromatherapy. :o)

Heat packs can be a life saver! I have to have mine without the lavender though as I am allergic.

I had to make one of these a few weeks ago as I had hurt my neck – wish I’d seen your tutorial back then 🙂

That is one way on relieving nagging neck pain. A heat pack is used as well as balm oil for the soothing effect.

    Hi,
I would love to make your neck wrap. What were the approximate measurements for your neck wrap.
    Thank you,
    Debra

Debra – that is one of our earlier projects and we no longer have the sample to check the measurements. From memory it was approx 6 inches x 18 inches.
