Hands up if you love fall sewing? The cooler weather always inspires me to get cosy with my sewing machine and create lovely items for my home. I generally make scrappy, colourful projects. Sometimes I just want to sew something that is minimalist, classic, and understated. I’ve made a set of Falling Leaves Mugrugs using natural linen, yarn dyed gingham, and leather thonging. I really enjoyed sewing with a more subdued palette for a change.
This set of falling leaves is constructed in the large size and is ideal for mugrugs. I love how they turned out. Super cosy vibe – perfect for fall!
The Falling Leaves Mugrug Collection includes four different leaf styles. Each style is included in two sizes which gives you 8 different leaves to sew.
You can also make the Falling Leaves Mugrugs in two techniques. The ones shown here use just two fabrics on the leaf exterior. You can also make them with a diagonal strip patchwork panel on the right side of the leaf (shown below). This makes the pattern extremely versatile and excellent value. You can find the pattern in our Pattern Store and Etsy Shop.
