Jams and Preserves

June 28, 2011 By Spoonful of Sugar - 20 Comments

One of the lovely things about blogs is that you can live your life vicariously through them. Whilst we are having a wet, wintry week here, I can be instantly transported to the Northern hemisphere summer with all the lovely blogs I read. I have been enjoying seeing all the lovely jams and preserves that are being made with the summer fruit, and am already dreaming up new recipes to try when summer arrives here.

Whilst I was laid up last week, I did a spot of online shopping at Lark.

I found some lovely birdy jars…

some red polka dotted lids (I am envisioning some Christmas treats in jars)….

some blue polka dotted lids (just because)….

and some fun polka dotted doileys.

I think I will be prepared when the summer fruit is in season.

Ha, i was shopping with Allison last night over at Lark (FYI today they have a sale on, damn it) & stocked up on straws – way cuter & much cheaper than Donna Hay. Yes, a girl has to price compare waxy vintage style paper straws, it’s very important. I only need them for personal use or i’d have gone nuts with wholesale. Love Posie

Ohmygosh — how fun is that Lark shop? We need one here. And those jam jars are just too cute. We’ll be doing jam here in a few weeks and I sure wish we could find those cute jars in our neck of the woods!

I’ve never been to Lark – but your pictures are SO cute! I used to live in Alaska and I’d make Salmonberry jelly every summer … I’m missing that now!

I’m always inspired by your jam-making endeavors. I need to find some adorable jars like this now too, especially since berries are finally in season around here. Such a treat to have tasty homemade jam in the house!

I’ve been itching to make some preserves, but so far have resisted starting that project in the middle of a bunch of other projects. But if I had those cute little jars…

I really love the red dotty lids. I’m waiting for raspberrys to ripen so I can fill a few jars with their summery goodness.
