Inspiring Magazine

May 14, 2009 By Spoonful of Sugar - 55 Comments

I received my first copy of Marie Claire Idees yesterday, the summer issue, and it is a visual feast! It is a delightful magazine full of crafts, decorating ideas, and recipes. Everything is beautifully styled and photographed – I don’t know where to start! Fortunately I studied French for 2 years in high school and picked up a bit during our year in Paris so can understand most of the directions.

Here are a few of the pages to give you an idea…

I have been busy at work this week so haven’t had a lot of time to sew. I am in the process of sewing the binding onto this baby quilt.

Do you remember the Google Tag Toy I made a couple of weeks ago? You must check out the delightful version that Bonnie from Calamity Janes Cottage made for her grand baby!

Robin, from Robin Quilts, and Alison, CardyGirl, have been making Scrappy Loyalty Wallets; and Sandy from Raggedy Sandy has been making Passport Protectors!!

The magazine looks great but would be lost on me as I do not know any French.
The baby quilt looks gorgeous, its just not fair that work keeps us away from our crafts :0)

I have always loved this magazine, but haven’t seen the new issue yet. It looks lovely! I don’t know French so I keep a dictionary by my side when I read this magazine! Still fun to look at the photos and projects.

Hello and thanks for poping back on my little world…For the Madeleines you can use normal flour but they will be “heavier” to me…rice flour is better for shortbread i think?never tried?Woolies normally has some gluten free flour and they are a mix of different flour and work well…
I wish a good time at the show 🙂

What a beautiful, inspiring magazine! I don’t read a word of French, but I am sure I could spend an entire afternoon just looking at the picture.
I love the fabric you have chosen for the baby quilt; I have two blankets to start, but end of school year concerts/ meets/ parties are keeping me from the machine. Seeing all of your creativity makes me impatient to get back to work! 🙂

Our local newsAgent only takes in about 4 copies and when they’re gone, they’re gone–LOL! Enjoy the inspiration…Happy Day :o) ((HUGS))
