Holidays are extra special with the addition of small handmade touches. My current sewing focus is our upcoming Easter holiday and making some pretty patchwork additions to our Easter decorating. My latest sewing pattern, Bunny Coaster, is a fun afternoon sew. The Easter Coaster Pattern comes together really quickly and as an added bonus is a great way to use your favourite fabric scraps.
I am making Easter coasters in lots of pretty colours for each member of my family. The latest version is in pretty light purple. When I look at my stash of fabrics, I must admit that I don’t have many pretty purple florals/retro prints. Something I will need to work on. Is there a colour missing from your stash?
I had the perfect hand painted egg to match. My mum made me a set of hand painted eggs. The eggs are first blown through a small hole in the shell and thoroughly washed, before being painted. They look great as part of my Easter decorating.
The Easter Coaster Pattern is a great way to use an assortment of fabrics from the same colour family. I like to include polka dots, stripes, checks, small print florals, small retro prints, and white low volume prints to add some contrast. I am thinking a chocolate bunny in pretty brown florals might be my next Easter coaster.
You can find the Easter Coaster Pattern in my Etsy store – Bunny Coaster. Be sure to follow #bunnycoaster and #aspoonfulofsugaradesigns on Instagram to see all the gorgeous makes being created with my patterns.
