*** New Pattern in our Etsy Store ***
I love sharing a cup of tea with friends and family. There is something about the ritual of brewing tea and drinking from pretty fine bone china cups that really lifts the spirits. Here are some pretty Dresden Placemats I made to coordinate with my favourite tea set – Polka Rose, by Royal Albert. After sharing some images on instagram, we had loads of requests for the pattern. I am pleased to announce that the Dresden Placemat PDF Sewing Pattern is available in our Etsy store – I hope you will love it as much as we do.
Dresden Placemats are perfect for a special afternoon tea. Featuring a “scrappy” dresden plate with 16 petals and a coordinating centre, positioned on a low volume hexagon. This project can be easily completed in an afternoon. This is a great project to use your favourite scraps and is best suited to fabrics with small scale print. Make up a set for your next special tea, or use seasonal fabrics for Halloween or Christmas.
This is the perfect project to use all your favourite colour coordinated fabrics – small print florals, polka dots, ginghams, and more. The scrappy fabrics add to the patchwork charm of the Dresden Placemat.
Be warned – it is hard to stop at making only one. Before you know it, you may have a set of placemats in a rainbow of pretty colours.
You can find the 15 page Dresden Placemat ePattern in our Etsy store. It is filled with loads of instructions, and photographs, making this a beginner friendly pattern. Like all of our full sized templates, they are available in both A4 and Letter size to ensure you print at the correct size using your home printer.
