The classic Cathedral Window patchwork block is one of my all time favourites. In fact, my first ever Patchwork project was a pair of Cathedral Window cushions for my bedroom when I was in my teens. I recently designed a cushion for Homespun Magazine, giving the cathedral block a more modern look with some “Modern Meadow” fabric by Joel Dewberry.
I also designed a set of matching coasters using a reverse Cathedral Window block. The coaster pattern is available on the Homespun site.
This is the 10th anniversary issue of Homespun and it has some terrific projects from some of my favourite designers/bloggers, including Roslyn from Bloom; Janelle Wind; and Rosalie Quindlan.

Oh my goodness! I LOVE these projects. This is my favorite collection of all the ones my husband has designed, and you have used it so beautifully. With all the Modern Meadow fabric I have sitting in my basement, I’d better get to work on these projects. Thanks for sharing.

Okay, I see now that the instructions for the cushion aren’t available on the Homespun site. Do you have the details for this project that you could email me. I would really love to recreate this myself.

I just love this cushion! You did a beautiful job making it. It is so pretty. I have always loved the look of cathedral windows, but have never been taught how to do them, are they difficult to do? I have only been a quilter for a few years, so still have lots to learn. Hugs n Blessings from Sue x
