When my teens were little, I used to make a lot of their clothes. There is something very satisfying about sewing your children clothing. They are usually so proud to tell everyone that Mum made it for them. This lovely volume has so many wonderful patterns – for dresses, shorts, coats, shirts, and accessories. The hard part will be deciding which project to make first!
The patterns will help you achieve a boutique look for a fraction of the cost. The projects are all beautifully photographed, with lots of step by step photos to guide you through the process. Each project also includes some tips for modifying/adjusting the basic pattern to achieve a different look. The patterns are sized to fit girls aged from 12 months, through to 10 years. The book has a “Getting Started” section which runs through all the basic techniques you will need in the projects – such as making gathers and ruffles, inserting piping, appliqué, and making your own bias tape.
At the back of the book there is a CD which includes all the patterns and cutting layouts for the patterns, You can print out the pattern as you need them. We would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who loves to sew beautiful clothing for their girls.
