Girl Guide Gifts

May 13, 2008 By Spoonful of Sugar - 17 Comments

This Week at Guides I received 20 packets of Guide biscuits to sell. It will take me a while to sell them (unless we eat them all first)!

Last week at Girl Guides I made a no sew pillow out of red polar fleece.

You need – A cushion insert
Two pieces of polar fleece that are cut 5 inches bigger than the insert
                    Scissors

This is how I made it: Put the insert between the two pieces of polar fleece. Then cut strips that are 2.5 inches in length along each border of the square. The strips are about an inch wide. Next tie them in a double knot. When they are all tied, you are done!

Today we received a lovely package in the mail from Bluebird make her nest. She sent us some gorgeous Manila folders, some 70% cocoa chocolate, some of her cute Ella and Kate clips and some pretty fabric. We were very excited when we opened it! It is the first giveaway we have won. Thank you so much Tamara!!

Glad you girls were happy with your little package. Even big girls can wear some of my Ella and Kate bows! And all girls like chocolate and lovely stationery.

Sorry it took me so long to post.

Hi Sarah – thank you for the fantastic idea for the pillow you made at Guides last week. Tonight I was talking to one of my quilting friends and she mentioned that she has been asked to organise some crafts for her daughter’s Brownie group – I thought this may be something they could do too – so have passed your instructions – and link to your blog. LOVE the butterfly fabric you received in your package from Tamara. Have a great week. Hugs Jx

Do you think I am the only person, alive or not, who has never eaten a guide biscuit!!! I’m sure you will sell them but maybe not to someone like me…

Ahhh, Miss Sarah. If we weren’t separated by a big wide ocean, I would SO buy some of those cookies. But to send them in the mail? The mailman would eat them!

My husband takes the girl guide biscuits to work and they get eaten there! Cunning way to keep them out of my mouth.

what a wonderful idea that cushion is I MUST try it. I bought some cute polar fleece at the end of last winter Spotlight had it at a ridiculous price so I bought tons and had no idea what I would do with it! Now I can make cushion!!!
