My Bags are Packed, I’m Ready to Go…..

November 11, 2010 By Spoonful of Sugar - 31 Comments

….. well not quite (and now I can’t get that John Denver song out of my head!). I am heading off this afternoon for my first ever sewing retreat with Janelle and some other crafty ladies. The hard part is deciding how many projects to take (with no meals to cook, no cleaning to be done, and no taxi duties – I am hoping for a productive as well as fun weekend).

I have cut up my Bliss fabric ready for a quilt for Sarah. She has requested a quilt that is similar to this design – I can’t wait to get started on this one.

Some gorgeous Pippijoe fabric arrived this week from Kelani Fabric Obsession just in time for weekend sewing.

The Christmas Issue of Marie Claire Idees arrived last week and didn’t disappoint! My favourite article has some lovely ideas on how to repurpose sheet music to make Christmas decorations.

Sarah has been spoiling us again this week with her baking. This week we were treated to her Caramel Coconut Cake – the recipe is from this old favourite cookbook.

Thanks to Craft Gossip for featuring my “be merry” Festive Garland.

Hope to have some progress on my sewing projects to show you next week! Have a great weekend.
