What’s For Dinner??

August 6, 2011 By Spoonful of Sugar - 16 Comments

One of the really cool projects that I spotted this week was the tutorial for a Dry Erase Menu Plate over at Little Birdie Secrets. I would never have thought of using a dry erase marker on a plate! A most inspired idea. Of course I had to make one right away 🙂

I cut out the “Menu” lettering using vinyl on my cricut machine with the Cindy Loo Cartridge. You can find out some tips on cutting vinyl using a Cricut here. Such a quick project – 10 minutes tops – and a good way to repurpose an old plate.  If you don’t have a cricut or die cutting machine, you could always using a marker to write Menu or else use some scrapbooking adhesive letters.

I can’t wait until next time we have friends for dinner so I can write out the menu. Meanwhile I am using it for my weekly menu planning so everyone will know “What’s for Dinner?”

Cool idea! I love how beautiful the lettering looks. This would have been fun to have in our house when we were kids.

Oh that’s a great idea- thanks for sharing! Now if the plate could come up with menus on its own that would be extra great…. that way I wouldn’t have to always decide what’s for dinner….
