1st Friday Night Sewing Group

October 8, 2011 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 16 Comments

Once a month, I get together with Janelle  and a few other “blogless” friends for a night of sewing, laughter and fun. It is so good for the soul… (especially after a stressful week – burst water pipe, burst gas pipe, damaged gas cooktop etc….)

On Friday night I made up a pair of Pyjama Pants for Sarah using my favourite lounge pants pattern from Sewing Green. We had found the perfect Michael Miller Polka Dot flannel at Textile Traders, and teamed it with a PJ top from Cotton On Body. It was so satisfying to complete a project in one night.

Are you part of a sewing group?

Great PJ’s. I go to a Thursday day sewing group. It used to be Monday nights but the shop closed so now it’s at one of the girls home. So now I don’t work Thursdays & travel a 90km round trip to stay with the ones I started my quilt journey with. Well worth it! Tracee xx

Most definitley, and its a great way to have fun, gossip, catch up and of course sew and maybe eat things that really aren’t that good for you.

Love the polka dot pjs – very cute. I longed for a sewing group for many years and finally have a weekly charity group that gets together every Friday afternoon for about 4 hours. It’s my favorite day of the week.

So cute!! I meet with a few ladies every Monday to sew. Some knit or crochet, others do Swedish Weaving. We take lunch together and have lots of fun.
