Easter Gift Ideas

March 3, 2013 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 17 Comments

Sponsored by Target

We celebrate Easter with our extended family over a special meal. We exchange small Easter gifts, usually chocolate eggs or similar. This year, we wanted to be more creative in our Easter gift giving and have developed some Easter Gift Ideas. They can be quickly and inexpensively assembled from a few home ware and kitchenware items found at Target. Hope you find something to inspire you with your Easter gift giving this year.

Easter Breakfast Set

Start your Easter with a pretty breakfast table by filling a bowl with Easter eggs – perfect for teens who are too old to hunt for eggs! We usually have a special breakfast for Easter – with pancakes, waffles, or croissants. They would look amazing on these polka dot plates.

What to Buy:
Plate, bowl, Easter stickers, pack of 10 Easter eggs.

Plus:
Shredded cellophane

How To:
Fill the bowl with the cellophane filler and top with Easter eggs. Attach an Easter sticker to the side of the bowl.

Easter Baking Kit

Assemble some baking equipment and supplies to make the perfect Easter gift for a junior master chef! Look for items in pretty pastel colours like this gingham tea towel and sweet cupcake liners.

What to Buy:
Cake tin, wooden spoon, cupcake liners, tea towel, Easter stickers, mini Easter eggs.

Plus:
White shipping tag, Dymo label, cookie cutter, baking sprinkles or pearls, ribbon, cellophane bag.

How To:
Place the Easter eggs in a cellophane bag and tie with ribbon. Wrap the the tea towel around the cake tin. Position the spoon, liners, eggs, and baking supplies on top, and tie with a ribbon. Place the sticker on a shipping tag and add a greeting with a Dymo embossing label maker.

Easter Table Centrepiece

We like to set a lovely table for Easter. You can make an quick Easter table centrepiece by filling a home décor item, such as this Candle Birdcage, with colourful chocolate eggs. This idea would also work well with a glass cloche or hurricane lantern.
What to Buy:
Birdcage, 30 small chocolate eggs.
Plus:
straw, crochet trim, label printed on your computer, twine.
How To:
Remove the candle and packaging from the birdcage. Fill the base with straw, and add Easter eggs. Add some crochet lace. Print out an Easter greeting onto card, and attach with twine.

Easter Sundae Kit

An Easter Sundae Kit is the perfect gift for ice cream lovers and it makes an easy dessert for Easter. Love the play on words – Easter Sundae/Easter Sunday! Assemble the items and arrange them in a fruit bowl or basket. The paper ice cream cups and paper straws are great for parties. Everyone loves to add their own special sundae toppings.
What to Buy:
Fruit basket, tea towel, ice cream scoop, ice cream cups., Easter stickers, paper straws, mini chocolate eggs, gummi bears.
Plus:
cellophane bags, ribbon, sprinkles.
How To:
Place the sprinkles, gummi bears, and eggs in small cellophane bags, tied with ribbon. Tie the straws together with ribbon. Line the fruit basket with a tea towel. Place the ice cream cups, scoop, straws, eggs, gummi bears, and sprinkles in the basket. Attach an Easter sticker to the cups. (Optimal: you could also add a bottle of topping).

Bunny Face Cloth

If you like practical gifts, you can assemble a bunny from a face cloth. Teamed with soap, bath products, or bath toys, it makes a fun Easter gift for young and old.
What to Buy:
Target Essentials Face Cloth, soap, mini Easter eggs.
Plus:
Cellophane bag, ribbon, googly eyes, pom poms.
How To:
Assemble the bunny following the instructions in our tutorial here. Team the bunny with eggs and soap.
There is a great range of Easter gift ideas at Target. The Target Massive Home Sale starts from Thursday March 7 so head in for some bargains!

Edit: The sweet owl Baking Tin is from Target (Australia). It isn’t on their website but you may be lucky in store. We bought ours last week.

Update 25/03/13 – The Owl Cakelet Tin is available in the USA from World Market.
